TERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated: 4 August 2026

Please read these terms. They are the agreement between you and us for your use of Carma, and they include important limits on our responsibility in section 10.

Your licence to install and run the Carma app itself is Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement. These terms govern the Carma service and apply in addition to it. Sections 16 to 24 set out terms that Apple requires to be part of your agreement with us.

1. WHO WE ARE

Carma is provided by Kareem Esam Eldin Salah, an individual developer based in Egypt ("we", "us"). Contact: support@carma-app.com

2. ACCEPTANCE

By creating an account or using Carma, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

3. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything done through your account.

4. WHAT CARMA DOES

Carma helps you keep a record of your vehicles: service history, parts, warranties and documents, with reminders based on mileage and time intervals.

Carma is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It is not a substitute for a qualified mechanic, and it does not inspect your vehicle.

5. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND BILLING

Carma offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Pro is available as a one month subscription or a one year subscription. The current price of each is shown in the app before you confirm any purchase.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Where we offer a free trial or introductory price, the length and the terms of that offer are shown in the app before you subscribe. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial converts automatically to a paid subscription at the standard price.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the period already paid for.

Deleting your Carma account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately through Apple.

All payments and refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. Refund requests go to Apple.

We may change our prices or what each plan includes. Changes will not affect a period you have already paid for, and we will give notice before a change takes effect at your next renewal.

6. FREE TIER LIMITS

The free tier limits how many vehicles, tracked parts, documents and scans you can use, and how much history you can see. These limits are shown in the app and may change over time.

7. YOUR CONTENT

Everything you enter — vehicles, records, notes, photographs and documents — remains yours.

You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, display it back to you, process it to generate reminders, and, where you use the scan feature, transmit a document image for automated reading as described in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, and that you have permission from any other person whose information appears in a document you upload.

You must not upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.

8. DOCUMENT SCANNING

The optional scan feature sends a document image to a third-party service (Google's Gemini API) to extract text automatically. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Automated reading is not always accurate. Always check the extracted values before saving them. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your own records.

Do not use the scan feature for documents you are not comfortable sending to a third-party processor. Every field can be entered manually instead.

9. REMINDERS ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

This section is important.

Carma's maintenance schedules, intervals and reminders are estimates. They are generated from general data and from the information you enter, including mileage figures that you provide and that we may extrapolate between entries.

They are not a professional assessment of your vehicle. They do not account for your actual driving conditions, the state of your specific vehicle, manufacturer bulletins, or local legal requirements.

Always follow your manufacturer's service schedule and the advice of a qualified mechanic. Do not rely on Carma alone to decide when your vehicle needs attention, and never rely on it for anything affecting safety or legal compliance, including licence and insurance expiry dates.

A missed, late or incorrect reminder is not a basis for a claim against us.

10. DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITS ON OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Carma is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders and calculations will be accurate.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, nor for vehicle damage, mechanical failure, repair costs, fines, penalties, lapsed insurance or licences, lost data, or lost profits arising from your use of, or inability to use, Carma.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

11. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of Carma. We aim to give reasonable notice of significant changes, but we may act immediately where necessary for security, legal or technical reasons.

12. TERMINATION

You may stop using Carma at any time and delete your account from Settings, then Profile, then Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, use the service unlawfully, or in a way that harms other users or our systems. Where practical we will tell you why.

13. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.

14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the most recent revision. Continuing to use Carma after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, please delete your account.

16. THIS AGREEMENT IS WITH US, NOT APPLE

These terms are between you and us alone. They are not an agreement with Apple, and Apple is not a party to them.

Apple is not responsible for Carma or for anything in it. We alone are responsible for Carma, its content, and any claim relating to it.

17. YOUR LICENCE TO USE CARMA

Your licence to use Carma is personal and non-transferable, and covers any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing may also access Carma under this licence.

You may not distribute Carma over a network where it could be used by several devices at once, and you may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense it.

18. MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT

We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for Carma. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for it.

19. WARRANTY

We are solely responsible for any warranty for Carma, whether we give it expressly or the law implies it, to the extent it has not been effectively disclaimed above.

If Carma fails to conform to any warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation of any kind in relation to Carma. Any other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense arising from a failure to conform to a warranty is our responsibility alone.

20. CLAIMS ABOUT THE APP

We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claim that you or a third party makes about Carma or about your possession and use of it. This includes:

(a) claims that Carma caused loss or injury;
(b) claims that Carma does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement; and
(c) claims brought under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.

21. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CLAIMS

If a third party claims that Carma infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.

22. LEGAL COMPLIANCE AND EXPORT

You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a United States Government embargo, or that the United States Government has designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

23. THIRD-PARTY TERMS

You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when you use Carma.

24. APPLE'S RIGHT TO ENFORCE THESE TERMS

Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. When you accept these terms, Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
